Kitchen Stories is an Android app where you'll find hundreds of recipes from both amateur and professional chefs who want to share their best dishes with the community. The idea is to provide access to an extensive menu of dishes organized by category, including huge vegan and gluten-free selections. Here you'll find all sorts of dishes, with precise instructions provided for people like you who look for simplicity when it comes time to cook.

The Kitchen Stories interface displays recipes organized by dietary category and featuring photos of each dish, with their names below. Even before opening a recipe, you can mark it as a favorite so you can go back to it once you've browsed the endless list of dishes. Each item includes a description written by the person who shared it, the level of difficulty, preparation time, nutritional information, ingredients, and tools you'll need, as well as step-by-step instructions.

In addition to the detailed instructions, in Kitchen Stories you'll find loads of videos where you can watch the recipes being prepared and even cutting or frying techniques so can learn specific preparation methods. These multimedia goodies help a lot when certain ingredients require specific preparation methods and you don't know exactly how to do it.

One of the outstanding features of this app is that, in addition to the vast number of dishes included in its catalog, it includes an integrated kitchen timer to buzz when the food is done cooking. It also includes a note section for each recipe where you can note down any little detail to make it easier to make the same dish again in the future.
Discover how to cook new dishes based on a photo with Pic2Recipe

Anybody who's ever seen a photo that made their mouth water can appreciate a tool to fetch a recipe based solely on a picture. Addicts of the Food Porn subreddit probably have this thought every time a recipe-less post gets published on the thread. Luckily there are people out there who are trying to make the world a better place: developers at MIT have put together the Pic2Recipe project, a website and potential mobile app that can pull up recipes using just a picture as the search term.
